Profile - Michelle Fogarty

The aim of my paintings is to try to represent a moment in time.  Whether it is a fleeting moment of a long afternoon gathering.  I can imagine people sitting around the table talking, laughing and enjyoing life.  My paintings are usually painted from an aerial view.  As though someone is watching over the table, observing the colours and shapes of the objects and the way the shadows play uon the scene.  I am completely obsessed with colour and pattern.  I love the emotions that colour evokes and through pattern, I am able to protray an almost abstract quality to a still life.  I hope that people find happiness in my work.  That they get lost in a pattern and find joy in the colours.....Michelle Fogarty
